Pantries receive funding through grants
from Federal, State and Local Governments. Federal grants include funding
through FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency) and TEFAP,
(Temporary Emergency Family Assistance Program) which provides food comedies
such as rice, peanut butter, canned fruits and vegetables, frozen meats,
powdered milk and many other products.
State grants through HPNAP (Hunger Prevention Nutrition Assistance Program) provide food comedies as well as operation support and equipment purchases for our pantries. Tompkins County Board of Representatives provide funds to the Food Bank of the Southern Tier, for the establishment of lines of credit for our pantries for the purchase of food. |
